Armenia to support businesses hit by Russian import ban

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said that the government will compensate farmers for products they could not deliver to Russia due to restrictions imposed by Moscow.

Axar.az reports that he made the statement as follows:

“The government has already decided that whenever unfair barriers to exports arise, it will introduce support and subsidy programs for these goods so that our economy does not suffer any losses.

If peppers spoil, roses spoil—the government will pay for them. But as a result, pepper production in Armenia will increase, and exports will grow as well,” Pashinyan said.

It should be noted that Russia has banned the import of certain products from Armenia.
