Pakistan cites Muharram for delay in Iran-US talks

Pakistan has said that the expected delay in Iran–US talks scheduled to begin in Switzerland was due to Iran’s officials being engaged in religious ceremonies during Muharram.

Axar.az reports, citing Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, that this was the reason behind the postponement.

It should be noted that the Iranian delegation had also delayed its planned trip to Switzerland for the first round of talks due to continued Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon.
