Kazakhstan's new Constitution enters into force

Kazakhstan's new Constitution has officially entered into force.

Axar.az reports that President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced the milestone in a nationwide address marking the enactment of the country's new Constitution.

"Today marks the beginning of a new era in the history of sovereign Kazakhstan. We are embarking on a strategic path of steady progress, political and economic reforms, and large-scale modernization," Tokayev said.

The president also congratulated the people of Kazakhstan on what he described as a "truly historic event" and said the new Constitution opens a new chapter in the country's development.
