Ghalibaf: U.S. naval blockade on Iran completely lifted

Iran's parliamentary speaker and head of the country's negotiating team, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, said the U.S. naval blockade has been completely lifted.

Axar.az informs according to IRNA, he noted that clause 4 states that immediately upon the signing of this memorandum, the United States shall begin lifting the naval blockade and refrain from any interference or obstruction against the Islamic Republic of Iran. It also provides that the naval blockade must be completely lifted within 30 days.

The speaker of Parliament recalled: "When the memorandum was initially signed, we obtained a commitment from the other side that Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, acting as a mediator to end the war, and President Donald Trump would announce the end of the naval blockade that very night. In fact, it did not even take 30 days, which is a sign of the strength of both the battlefield and diplomacy."

Ghalibaf said: "From the day the blockade was lifted until today, we have exported more than 40 million barrels of oil. This happened in less than 10 to 12 days. However, during the preceding fifty-odd days, we truly did not export a single barrel of oil because we were engaged in resolving this issue so that we could make it happen."
