6.2 earthquake hits southern Philippines

A magnitude 6.2 earthquake has struck the southern Philippines.

Axar.az reports, citing the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), that the quake's hypocenter was located at a depth of 68 km. Its epicenter was 87 km south of General Santos, a city with a population of about 679,000, and 34 km west-southwest of the municipality of Sarangani.

No casualties or damage have been reported.
