Trump says US troops to leave Iraq

U.S. President Donald Trump said American troops will leave Iraq, arguing that their presence is no longer necessary.

Axar.az reports, citing foreign media, that Trump made the remarks while speaking during an Oval Office meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi.

"We don't think we need the military there anymore," Trump said. "Our oil companies are all going in now, and they're doing partnerships with Iraq."

Al-Zaidi said U.S. forces are set to complete their withdrawal from Iraq by September 30.
