The Armenian government is expected to approve the framework agreement for the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) project at its July 16 meeting.
Axar.az reports, citing Armenian media, once approved by the cabinet, the agreement will be submitted to the Constitutional Court to determine whether it complies with Armenia's Constitution. If the court rules in favor of the document, it will then be sent to the National Assembly for ratification.
On August 8, 2025, in Washington, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan adopted a declaration confirming that the two countries' foreign ministers had initialed a peace agreement and a deal to restore bilateral relations, as well as reopen a transport link between Azerbaijan and its Nakhchivan exclave through Armenian territory. The agreement launched the TRIPP project.
The Trump Route project envisions the construction of oil and gas pipelines, fiber-optic networks, and power transmission lines, along with railway and highway infrastructure linking Armenia and Azerbaijan along the railway corridor bordering Iran.
Earlier, in June, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio initialed the TRIPP framework agreement.
