Russia suspends fruit imports from five Turkish exporters

Russia will temporarily suspend imports of apricots, peaches, and cherries from five Turkish exporters.

Axar.az reports that the decision follows repeated detections of quarantine pests in shipments that are prohibited under the regulations of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). However, the agency did not disclose which specific pests had been found.

While Turkiye is not one of Russia's largest suppliers of stone fruits, it is the country's leading exporter of citrus fruits, supplying 599,000 tonnes, and ranks second in melon exports with 16,000 tonnes.
