UKMTO reports incident involving tanker off Oman

A merchant vessel was involved in an incident with military forces about 100 nautical miles east of Duqm, Oman.

Axar.az reports that the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) announced the incident in a post on X.

According to the statement, the tanker was involved in an interaction as part of ongoing military activity in the region.

UKMTO said the relevant authorities are aware of the incident and that investigations are ongoing. The agency also advised vessels in the area to monitor the latest maritime security information and remain alert to the evolving operational environment.
