Six killed in Peru earthquake

A 5.1-magnitude earthquake in Peru has left six people dead, according to the country's Prime Minister Luis Arroyo Sanchez.

Axar.az reports that "Unfortunately, six people have died. We have already extended our condolences to their families and also visited several nearby districts," he said.

According to Sánchez, more than 250 homes were damaged, while 48 buildings were completely destroyed.

The earthquake struck 7 kilometers south of Chupaca on the previous day.
