Wildfire threatens France's defense industry

A wildfire in southwestern France is threatening defense industry facilities in the Bordeaux metropolitan area.

Axar.az reports, citing French media, that the blaze in the Gironde department is threatening a large network of defense industry enterprises and research facilities near Bordeaux.

The fire, which has spread around Arcachon Bay, has advanced to the region's industrial zone and is now in close proximity to it.

The area is home to production facilities of France's and Europe's largest defense companies, including Safran, Thales, Dassault, and ArianeGroup.

In addition, a subsidiary of Roxel France, which manufactures rocket motors for European missile and weapons producer MBDA, is also under threat.
