Zelensky warns of threat to global sea routes

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the situation in the Strait of Hormuz remains unstable and accused Russia of trying to block maritime routes through the Black Sea to Ukraine's ports in Odesa.

Axar.az reports, citing Ukrainian media, that Zelensky made the remarks during a meeting with the United Kingdom's new Prime Minister, Andy Burnham.

"We are doing everything we can to prevent this," Zelensky said, referring to Russia's alleged efforts to block the sea lanes.

He stressed that the closure of any maritime route is not just a problem for one country.

"It is a blow to global security and world trade, making life more expensive for people in many countries around the world," he added.
