Erdogan comments on Ahbap investigation

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has commented on the investigation into the Ahbap Association, saying that those who exploited the situation are being held accountable.

Axar.az reports that Erdogan made the remarks while speaking at the 2nd Communication Council held at ATO Congresium in Ankara.

During his speech, the Turkish president criticized what he described as disinformation and manipulation following the February 6 earthquakes and addressed the ongoing investigation into the Ahbap Association.

"The events that unfolded during the February 6 earthquakes clearly showed what kinds of games were being played against the state and the nation, and how people who had never even set foot in the earthquake zone made irresponsible and unfounded statements," Erdogan said.

He stressed that those who sought to exploit the disaster for political and economic gain were now being held accountable before the courts.

It should be noted that, as part of the investigation, Ahbap Association founder and singer Haluk Levent and Babala TV founder Oghuzhan Ughur have been arrested. The Ahbap Association drew widespread public attention after the February 6 earthquakes for its relief efforts and the donations it collected.
