According to official figures, the water volume of Lake Urmia in Iran has currently reached 4.02 billion cubic meters.
Axar.az reports that the information was provided in a report by relevant state institutions.
According to the data, the lake's water surface area has increased to 3,080 square kilometers. This indicates a significant recovery compared with the same period last year.
Independent environmental experts, however, said that the official figures refer to last month, and that the water volume in Lake Urmia stood at 3.4 billion cubic meters in the final days of July.
