Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree appointing Agriculture Minister's adviser Olga Abramova as acting head of the Udmurt Republic.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that this announcement was made by the Kremlin's press service.

"Appoint Olga Viktorovna Abramova as Acting Head of the Udmurt Republic until the person elected as Head of the Udmurt Republic takes office," the decree states.

On July 29, Putin met with Abramova at the Kremlin, where he offered her the post of head of the Udmurt Republic and wished her success in her new role.

The president also approved the resignation request of the region's previous head, Alexander Brechalov.
