US forces destroy Iranian-affiliated vessel in Gulf of Oman

US forces destroyed an Iranian-affiliated dhow in the Gulf of Oman on October 6, accusing it of conducting surveillance and targeting US Navy ships.

Axar.az reports, citing US Central Command (CENTCOM)'s X account, that the vessel’s crew members were safely removed before the dhow was destroyed.

CENTCOM added that over the past seven months, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has continued to indiscriminately target thousands of civilian mariners transiting regional waters in addition to U.S. Navy warships.

Efforts to repatriate the crew members are ongoing, the command added.
