Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that neither US President Donald Trump, Elon Musk nor anyone else in the world can choose Ukraine’s president, as that right belongs exclusively to Ukrainian citizens.

Axar.az reports that, when asked whether he would voluntarily step down, Zelensky said he would not, describing the war as his responsibility.

Zelensky also claimed that some influential people wanted to replace him because he would never recognise Ukrainian territory as Russian.

“If I am removed from power, I am sure that the new leader, whether a man or a woman, will defend our country, because this is our home,” he added.
