The daughter of US President Donald Trump has become a popular subject of discussion on Twitter over two different incidents in recent days.
Axar.az informs that a recent report by CNN stated that US State Secretary Rex Tillerson would not send a high-level delegation for Ivanka Trump, who is visiting an entrepreneurship summit in India.
Many on Twitter claimed that Ms. Trump – who is not an elected official or an appointed government worker – should be allowed to play a role in foreign policy.
One twitterian even described her as "diplomat Barbie."
Some also noted that Ivanka Trump is just one of many people in the Trump team without credible experience in politics.
Tillerson’s decision has reportedly indicated a new spike in tensions between the US top diplomat and the White House. A source in the State Department told CNN that Tillerson does not want to "bolster" Ivanka Trump’s position on the international stage.
Ms. Trump received another portion of attention from Twitter users when she made a stand for former President Barack Obama’s eldest daughter, Malia, after a video showing her smoking went viral. Malia Obama is now 19, and she is a student at Harvard University.
"She is a young adult and private citizen, and should be OFF limits," Ivanka Trump said on Twitter.
Not everyone, however, believed that her gesture was sincere.
Others said the situation is not a big deal and should not be taken too seriously.
Meanwhile, Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of former President Bill Clinton and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, also took to Twitter to defend Malia Obama.
"Malia Obama's private life, as a young woman, a college student, a private citizen, should not be your clickbait. Be better," she said.
