11 killed, 27 injured in bus-truck collision in Turkiye

At least 11 people have been killed and 27 others injured in a collision between a tour bus and a tow truck in Manisa province, western Turkiye.

Axar.az reports, citing Turkish media, that the accident occurred near the Akhisar toll booths on the Gebze-Orhangazi-Izmir Motorway. The bus was travelling from Bursa towards Izmir when it collided with the tow truck near the Akhisar highway entrance.

Ambulances, firefighters, police and rescue teams were dispatched to the scene. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The governor’s office confirmed that 11 people had died and 27 had been injured, extending condolences to the victims’ families and wishing those injured a speedy recovery.
