We are concerned about reports of civilians being killed in landmines in Libya's Ayn Zara and Saladin districts.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from the UN Assistance Mission in Libya.

"We strongly condemn such actions, which do not serve any military purpose, create fear among the people and violate the rights of civilians," the statement said.

The Libyan people were also called on to follow the instructions of the security forces and stay away from the dangerous area.

In the Saladin and Ayn Zara districts, civilians were killed when explosives planted by the rebel Khalifa Haftar army retreated.
