UN appeal to Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has called on Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to adhere to the ceasefire.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from UN Secretary General's Spokesman Stephane Dujarric.

"The Secretary-General welcomes the contacts between the leaders of the two countries and the ceasefire agreement reached on May 1. He called on both sides to take all necessary measures to ensure peace. The Secretary-General also said that the UN was ready to provide support if necessary," Dujarric said.
