There are three types of territories occupied by Armenia in Karabakh.

Axar.az reports the statement came from well-known Russian political scientist Sergei Markov.

"The first of these areas are inhabited by Armenians. We can show that examples are Khankendi and other settlements. In such areas, there was some form of normal living.

The second type of territory is the area inhabited by Azerbaijanis and subjected to ethnic cleansing. Armenia wanted to use these territories for Azerbaijan to recognize the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh. He wanted to change these territories outside Nagorno-Karabakh to the recognition of independence.

During the Second Karabakh War, these territories were liberated by the Azerbaijani Army, and now they are in the process of normal reclamation, demining and infrastructure creation.

According to the expert, many in Russia and in the world in general thought that Karabakh consisted only of territories inhabited by Armenians:

"They never knew there were two types of territory," he said. Other, second types of territories are really huge, for example, the whole of Agdam. Everything was destroyed here, the city was destroyed.

Now it turns out that there are still third types of territories in Karabakh. These are the territories once inhabited by Azerbaijanis, subjected to ethnic cleansing, not belonging to the former Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Republic, adjacent to the territory of Armenia, the border with Armenia. Due to a long time since the Armenian occupation, there was a slow development in these areas. Auxiliary buildings have appeared there, for example, some construction materials are produced, the agricultural structure, respectively, cow barns, some small settlements, etc. developed in this way. "There are quite large areas there, and now the Armenian side must hand over all this," Markov said.
