We do not support calls for a ceasefire in Gaza - USA

The US does not support calls for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, as this would sow the seeds of another war.

Axar.az reports that this was said by the US Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Robert Wood.

"While the United States strongly supports a lasting peace in which both Israelis and Palestinians can live safely, we do not support calls for an immediate ceasefire. This will only sow the seeds of another war because Hamas does not want to see lasting peace and a two-state solution," R. Wood said.
