Abdollahian talked to Ismayil Haniyeh by phone

Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian spoke by phone with Ismail Haniyeh, head of the Political Bureau of the Hamas group.

Axar.az reports concerning the "Mehr" agency that the parties discussed the recent events in the Gaza Strip.

Abdullahian welcomed UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres' recent invocation of Article 99 of the UN Charter to achieve a humanitarian ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. He called this step a rare and worthy measure aimed at establishing peace and security on the world stage.
