Zelensky says Russia lost 54,400 troops in October

Ukraine's Defence Forces claimed to have killed or seriously wounded 54,400 Russian troops in October, marking the highest monthly figure since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, President Volodymyr Zelensky has said.

Axar.az reports that Zelensky made the statement in a post on Telegram, adding that Russian forces also suffered a record daily loss of 2,250 personnel on October 21.

"In a single month, Russia lost 54,400 troops killed or seriously wounded. This is a record for any month since the start of the full-scale war. A daily casualty record was also set: the Russian army lost 2,250 personnel on October 21 alone," Zelensky said.

Zelensky thanked Ukrainian military personnel for the results, saying that Ukraine was holding its positions and reclaiming territory. He added that Russia could stop the losses by choosing a ceasefire and diplomacy.
