Galatasaray vice-president Metin Ozturk resigns

Galatasaray Vice President Metin Ozturk has resigned from the club's board of directors and affiliated companies, saying that he was physically attacked and that his late mother was insulted during a board meeting.

Axar.az reports, citing Turkish media, that Ozturk announced his decision in a post on X, referring to an incident at a board meeting on October 27.

“I cannot accept an action that turned into a physical attack and an insult to my deceased mother,” he said, adding that he was resigning from all his positions on the club's board and the boards of affiliated companies.

Ozturk was appointed second president in June 2026, following the re-election of Dursun Ozbek as Galatasaray president.

Ozturk announced that, effective immediately, he was stepping down from the Galatasaray Board of Directors and all executive positions he held at companies affiliated with the club.
