A few days ago, the well-known director Muhammad Rasulov, who was sentenced to 8 years in prison, left Iran illegally.
Axar.az reports that the director shared about this on his social network page.
The director, who said that his passport was confiscated 7 years ago and was banned from leaving the country, said that he is now in a safe place and thanked those who helped him leave the country.
"If you think that the borders of Iran are in your hands, you are just dreaming. Although geographical Iran suffers under the boots of your religious tyranny, cultural Iran lives in the collective consciousness of millions of Iranians forced to flee the country by your brutality and cruelty, and no power can impose its will on it. From today, I am a resident of cultural Iran," Rasulov said.
Although he said that he is currently in one of the European countries, he did not reveal the name of the country where he is taking refuge.
It should be noted that on May 8, Tehran's Revolutionary Court sentenced the director to 8 years in prison on the charge of "collusion, spreading statements, and harming the country's national security by making documentaries."
