Prime Minister of Greece Kyriakos Mitsotakis proposed the creation of a single regional air defense system - the European "Iron Dome" system.

Axar.az reports that Michotakis spoke about this in an interview.

"I am talking about the European air defense system, the European "umbrella" that will protect Europe from any threat," he said.

He said that consultations are already underway on the proposal:

"This initiative will allow Greece to use the defense potential of European countries to protect its airspace, as well as reduce its dependence on the national budget in this matter."

It should be noted that the developers of the "Iron Dome" system are the companies "Israel Aerospace Industries" and "Rafael Advanced Defense Systems".
