The state of Palestine is opposed by France

France doesn't believe that this decision will have a real impact on the peace process.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by the French Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jean-Yves Le Drian.

"Our position is clear. The recognition of the state of Palestine is not taboo for France. But this decision must be beneficial, meaning it should allow for a definite step forward in the political context. France does not believe that the conditions have been met for this decision to have a real impact on the peace process," he said.

It should be noted that earlier, Norway, Spain, and Ireland announced that they would declare their recognition of the state of Palestine on May 28.
