Georgia bought armored personnel carriers from Turkiye

Defense Forces of Georgia bought new "VURAN" armored personnel carriers according to NATO standards from Turkiye. The supply of military equipment was carried out based on the agreement signed between Turkiye and Georgia on the strengthening of military cooperation.

Axar.az reports that the Ministry of Defense of Georgia released information about this.

It was reported that the ceremony of handing over the armored vehicles of the 4th infantry brigade of the Defense Forces of Georgia was held at the Vaziani military training ground.

The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Defense Sergo Janelidze, Deputy Commander of Defense Forces, Brigadier General Irakli Chichinadze, Turkish Ambassador to Georgia Ali Kaan Orbay and Defense Attache.

The general manager of "ASFAT" company, under the Turkish Ministry of National Defense, also came to Georgia to participate in the event.

Armored vehicles with "VURAN" equipment and subsystems meet NATO standards.

It is reported that equipping the Defense Forces of Georgia with the mentioned armored vehicles will make a significant contribution to strengthening the country's defense capabilities and deepening the cooperation between Turkiye and Georgia.
