The Ukrainian army has probably defeated the elite Russian 83rd Airborne Brigade in Volchansk, Kharkiv region.
Axar.az reports that "Forbes" publication wrote about this.
"Russia's Victory Day attack has turned into a bloodbath for Russian troops. This attack was intended to capture a large area in order to move the heavy artillery closer to Kharkiv or even advance towards the city itself. But neither that nor this happened. A few weeks after the May 9 attack, about 30,000 Russian soldiers were trapped in the city of Volchansk, a few miles south of the border," the publication said.
According to reports, Russia's elite 83rd Airborne Brigade has lost its combat effectiveness due to large numbers of casualties and deserters and has retreated from Volchansk to restore it:
"If confirmed, this would be a serious loss for Russia's new Northern Army Group of approximately seven regiments and brigades."
Note that the 83rd Airborne Brigade is considered one of the most elite combat units in Russia. In summer, the brigade fought in the direction of Chasov Yar.
