He was appointed to replace Al-Hashem

The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, has appointed Hojjat-al-Islam Sheikh Ahmad Mutahari Asli, representative of East Azerbaijan and imam of Tabriz.

Axar.az reports that Ali Khamenei signed an order on this on July 10.

It should be noted that Seyyed Mohammad Ali Al-Hashem held this position before him. He died in a helicopter accident on May 19 this year, along with the former President of Iran Ebrahim Raisi and other state officials.
