Lithuania's Seym (parliament) approved Ingrida Simonite as the Prime Minister of the Republic at the suggestion of President Gitanas Nauseda.

Axar.az reports that 70 deputies voted in favor of it, 28 voted against it, and 23 deputies abstained.

The new government will operate for about three months. The next parliamentary elections will be held in October, after which a new cabinet will be formed.

According to I. Simonite, it is necessary to complete the work on the government program in the fields of education, security and energy during the remaining period.
