The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has banned foreign tourists from traveling to Iran alone and has significantly tightened the requirements for obtaining a visa.

Axar.az informs that this information was reported by Azad Iran.

Under the new rules, visa applicants must provide personal information, including social media accounts. In addition, they must have a contract with an official tourism agency, confirmed hotel reservations, a full travel itinerary, and be accompanied by a licensed guide.

Furthermore, applicants are required to submit their CV, education, and travel history. Iranian embassies will review applications within 2–3 weeks.

It is noted that the Iranian government has strengthened security controls in the country following the 12-day war with Israel. According to officials, the number of foreign tourists visiting Iran has decreased by 53% since the war.
