The Japanese government has called on Asian and European countries, through diplomatic channels, not to participate in the memorial events and military parade in China on September 3, marking the 80th anniversary of victory in World War II.

Axar.az informs, citing Kyodo, the report states:

“On September 3, a parade is planned in Beijing’s Tiananmen Square, which China refers to as the ‘War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression’ (1937–45) and as the victory in the ‘World Anti-Fascist War.’ Through its overseas embassies, Japan has informed other countries that the memorial events in China carry anti-Japanese overtones and that participation should be approached with caution.”
