On July 19, forest fires broke out in 68 places in Greece.

Axar.az reports that this was said by Vassilis Kikilias, Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Defense of the country.

He said that the long-term heatwave and drought in the country made the work of firefighters difficult.

"Authorities have declared an 'orange alert' status in some regions of the country, citing the scorching heat that creates a high risk of fire. The "Emergency Plan" prepared for fighting forest fires in the regions of Athens, Argolida, Euboea and Boeotia, where the firefighting teams were put on "orange alert", has entered into force.
