Russian footballer converts to Islam

Rostov FC player Daniil Utkin, who is on loan at Russian club Baltika, has converted to Islam.

Axar.az reports that the 26-year-old midfielder confirmed to Match TV that he had converted to Islam.

However, he said that he took such a step while still at Rostov, not at Akhmat: "This is a matter related to my personal life. Therefore, I will not make any further comments."

It should be noted that Daniil Utkin played for Akhmat in the 2021/2022 and 2024/2025 seasons. He played for the Russian national team twice.
