During his resignation ceremony, Major General Aharon Haliva, head of Israeli military intelligence, took responsibility for the country's failure to protect its borders on October 7.

Axar.az reports that Reuters provided this information.

He has called for a national investigation to thoroughly study and understand the factors that led to the escalation of the conflict between Israel and the Hamas movement.

It is noted that on the morning of October 7, 2023, Hamas launched a massive rocket attack from the Gaza Strip on Israeli territory, occupied border areas in the country's south, and took people hostage, escalating the situation in the Middle East.
