China conducted a live-firing exercise from its territory nearest to Taiwan, just one week after it initiated a large-scale drill encircling the island.

Axar.az reports that ,citing BBC, The Chinese military activities off Taiwan's coast have escalated in recent years, reflecting Beijing's increasing claims over the self-governing territory.

On Monday, Beijing announced that an area around Niushan, an island located 105 km from Taiwan, would be closed for drills for four hours starting at 09:00 local time on Tuesday.

In response, Taiwan's Premier Cho Jung-tai remarked that such exercises pose a threat to regional stability and should not be taking place.
