Israeli bulldozers have demolished a observation tower in Lebanon and fences around the positions of peacekeepers.

Axar.az reports that according to UN officials the Israeli army's bulldozers destroyed the observation tower in Marwyn, southern Lebanon, as well as fences in the area where UN peacekeepers are located.

"We remind the Israeli army and those responsible for this incident of their obligation to ensure the safety of UN personnel and property and to respect the sanctity of UN buildings," UN officials emphasized.

It should be noted that last week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called on peacekeepers in southern Lebanon to leave areas near the Israeli border. He also accused Hezbollah of using UN positions as a shield during attacks on Israel. Claims regarding Israeli forces attacking peacekeepers were labeled as false.
