An Israeli airstrike near Rafik Hariri University Hospital in southern Beirut has resulted in the deaths of at least 13 people, including a child, according to the Lebanese health ministry.

Axar.az reports that the attack also left 57 others injured, seven of whom are in critical condition, and destroyed three buildings located about 50 meters from the hospital in the Jnah neighborhood. The health ministry noted that the strike caused considerable damage to the hospital itself.

The Israeli military claimed it targeted a Hezbollah site near the hospital but stated that the facility was not affected.
