President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed the law on amendments to the Criminal and Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine in connection with the ratification of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

Axar.az reports that information about this was published on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.

It should be noted that 137 countries have signed the Rome Statute, and 124 countries have ratified it.

On March 17, 2023, the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague issued a warrant for the arrest of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, based on the application of the ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan. The Russian president was accused of a war crime, that is, of illegally deporting children from the occupied territories of this country to Russia during Russia's intervention in Ukraine.
