SIPER Urun-1 joins Turkish army

Turkiye's new air defense system, the long-range regional air defense system "SIPER Urun-1," which is the main component of the Steel Dome, has been included in the Turkish Armed Forces' inventory.

Axar.az reports that Haluk Gorgun, Chairman of the General Department of Defense Industry of the Presidential Administration of Turkiye, said this.

Noting that the new system is a gift to the people on the occasion of the 101st anniversary of the establishment of the Republic of Turkiye, Gorgun said that the SIPER system will be able to fight air targets such as warplanes and missiles, including air-to-ground missiles. Work continues on the improvement of the "SIPER Urun-2" system, which will have better capabilities.

It should be noted that Turkiye wants to eliminate threats from the air against the country through new generation systems developed by local companies.

ASELSAN and ROKETSAN, Turkiye's flagship companies in the field of technology, as well as a number of relevant organizations, were involved in the project, characterized as a "system of systems" because it will bring together military equipment of different quality and power. The local systems developed by them will be mutually integrated through artificial intelligence.
