Well-known opposition leaders of Georgia - ex-foreign minister Mikhail Canalidze and ex-defense minister Tinatin Khidasheli avoided televised debate with Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

Axar.az reports that they took this step a few hours before the TV debate.

Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said in his briefing that the "radical opposition" knows for sure that they have nothing to say:

"These two people are two arithmetic mean "nationalities". We thought that a discussion with them would allow the public to determine the truth. Their rejection of public discussion means only one thing - the truth is on our side, and that's why they fear any public discussion."

It should be noted that the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, made a statement on December 3 and declared that he was ready to hold public discussions with the people who objected to the statement made by the ruling team on November 28, and invited the opposition leaders to a TV debate on the country's Public Television. On December 3, representatives of the opposition, Mikhail Canalidze and Tinatin Khidasheli, announced that they would participate in the TV debate. The teledebate was scheduled for December 4 at 10:00 p.m. Today, in the second half of the day, both opposition leaders refused the debate.
