Kremlin: No Trump-Putin talks scheduled yet

President-elect Donald Trump recently announced that plans were underway for a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss ending the ongoing Ukraine war.

Axar.az reports that the Kremlin contradicted Trump’s statement, with spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirming no formal requests for a meeting had been received. Peskov suggested that such discussions would be more appropriate after Trump’s inauguration on January 20.

Trump, who has pledged to end the nearly four-year-long war in Ukraine within 100 days of taking office, emphasized the urgency of peace negotiations.

Despite conflicting accounts, both sides have expressed readiness for dialogue post-inauguration.

Speculation continues about whether Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will be involved in future talks or accept potential agreements.

Trump’s team and envoy Keith Kellogg remain focused on achieving a swift resolution to the conflict.
