Saudi Arabia welcomed the ceasefire agreement

Saudi Arabia has welcomed the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, acknowledging the mediation efforts of Qatar, Egypt, and the United States.

Axar.az, citing Asharq Al-Awsat, reports that the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the need to uphold the ceasefire terms, halt Israeli aggression, and ensure the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and other Palestinian and Arab territories.

The Kingdom called for the safe return of displaced persons and urged actions to address the conflict's root causes, including recognizing Palestinian rights and establishing an independent Palestinian state based on 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Expressing concern over the war's toll—over 45,000 killed and 100,000 injured—Saudi Arabia hopes the ceasefire will pave the way for a permanent end to the violence.
