Real Madrid footballer Raul Asencio has been convicted of a traffic offence for driving under the influence of alcohol, a spokesperson from the press office of Gran Canaria's High Court of Justice confirmed on Wednesday.
Axar.az reports, citing ESPL, that Asencio was stopped at a sobriety checkpoint in Gran Canaria at 6.30 a.m. CET on Aug. 16 while driving a Porsche Macan.
The player tested positive in the first breathalyser test (0.90 mg/l) and also in the second test (0.88 mg/l), four times the legal limit.
The footballer admitted to the facts in a summary trial and was fined €14,400 (€120 per day for four months), in addition to having his driver's licence suspended for eight months.
