It strongly demands France to take responsibility for the complete and one-time elimination of the waste of the nuclear tests carried out in the territory of Algeria.

Axar.az reports that the Chairman of the National Council of Algeria Saleh Gucil said this during the discussion of the new draft law on waste management, control, and elimination in the parliament.

Gucil said that his country's position should be clearly expressed in the draft law. He also added that Algerians living near the regions where the nuclear explosions took place are still suffering from their consequences.

It should be noted that between 1960 and 1966, France conducted 17 nuclear tests in the Riggan and Ahaggar mountainous areas of Algeria.
