Those who want to meditate on Ukraine should be equidistant from both countries.

Axar.az reports that on January 27, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Mikhail Galuzin said this in a meeting with Turkish Ambassador to Moscow Tanju Bilgich.

The situation around Ukraine was discussed in detail at the meeting.

Ankara was told that the countries that want to be mediators in the solution of the Ukrainian crisis should follow the principle of equal distance and not unite with one of the parties to the conflict.

In addition, the Russian side expressed its openness to real peace initiatives and cooperation proposals.

Galuzin and Bilgiz also discussed the processes in South Gafgaz.

On January 18, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that if appropriate conditions arise, Ankara is ready to act as a mediator in solving the Ukrainian crisis.
