Ukraine does not accept that it owes the United States $500 billion, as claimed by former President Donald Trump.

Axar.az reports that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this.

"I know we had $100 billion (in aid), and that is a fact. I will not accept the $500 billion claim. We cannot recognize grants as loans. I spoke with Biden, I spoke with Congress. Both sides were involved. Maybe you don't like it, but that was the agreement. It was a grant. We do not recognize it as a debt," he said.

According to Zelensky, the U.S. proposal regarding mineral resources is a new agreement and is unrelated to previous aid to Kyiv.
